Healing from jealousy

Finding balance in a relationship can be difficult, especially if you’re someone who is naturally jealous. Jealousy can make you lose your mind and doubt your partner, even if he or she has given you no reason to do so. It’s important to understand that jealousy is a normal and natural feeling, but it can become a problem if it gets out of control.

To heal from jealousy, you must first become aware of your feelings and understand what triggers them. Have you been cheated on in the past? Do you have self-confidence issues? Or is it simply the result of a lack of communication with your partner?

Once you have identified the causes of your jealousy, you can start working on ways to manage it. It is important to talk openly with your partner about your feelings and what makes you jealous. They may be able to reassure you and help you understand that your fears are unfounded.

You can also work on your self-confidence by practicing self-love and working on your insecurities. Activities like yoga or meditation can help you find a calmer, more centered state of mind.

It is also important to remember that excessive jealousy can be harmful to a relationship. If you cannot control your feelings of jealousy, it can lead to conflict and ultimately the end of the relationship.

Ultimately, healing jealousy requires honest self-reflection and a willingness to work through your emotions. By practicing open communication, self-trust, and making efforts to maintain a healthy relationship, you can overcome jealousy and have a happier, more fulfilling relationship.

Jealousy can become a real scourge that slowly damages the relationship between two loving people. The pathologically jealous person finds himself imprisoned in his own thoughts, waiting for betrayal as if he were waiting for the next meal. He then becomes the protagonist of his own spy film, seeking to discover where, when and with whom he will be the victim of an unforgivable betrayal.

While this may seem like fun, the situation can quickly become a daily hell for both the jealous person and their partner. The jealous person rummages through their spouse’s phone, spies on their work outings, reads all emails – desirable, unwanted, in the trash and even in spam. And the more they search, the less they find.

The partner can then find themselves constantly justifying everything and everyone, to the point that some people end up cutting themselves off from their entourage, their work and even their family. What is a prison for one is also a prison for both, and they make each other’s lives hell without wanting to. It is therefore important to treat excessive jealousy to protect your relationship.

How to get out of jealousy? How to tame this terrible feeling of paranoia and persecution?

Nothing is less easy. Consulting a therapist in the most complicated cases is highly recommended. You can reason with the sick person as much as you like, but their illness will escape you since it goes beyond the reasonable and rational framework.

Before being in a relationship with the person opposite, jealousy is above all a desire to possess an otherness. This Other is interchangeable since it is a certain type of Other who can trigger jealousy, but not this other in particular.

For the most reasonable jealous people, you have to start by working on your self-confidence. When the idea that the other is going to escape you becomes very intense, it is also a fear of telling yourself that alone, you will no longer have any value. By working on self-esteem, you can re-appropriate your own reality, which exists without the other and therefore make the other an enriching being but not your whole reality with which you identify. When you are comfortable with yourself, the fear of losing the other diminishes and therefore jealousy can also diminish if it is the result of a desire for possession.

Another direction of work could be the establishment of a framework. By openly discussing this jealousy with your spouse, you can define the limits that are yours, those within which you are able to control yourself and that your spouse is able to tolerate, and those from which you are no longer responsible for anything. Then extend this framework little by little, progressively, always by having a very sincere discussion regularly like every month, for example, to make a kind of assessment and adjust this working framework together.

In an increasingly connected world, espionage is becoming more and more sophisticated and your Inspector Derrick film is becoming more and more action-packed. Disconnect. Learn to live far from social networks so as not to add fuel to your fire, which you clearly do not need. Cut off the social networks that you do not need either, practice spending an evening turning off your cell phone, in short, try to live in reality as much as possible so that the virtual world does not short-circuit you in your reality.

In short, there are several ways to control or tame your jealousy, depending of course on its degree of importance. Do not hesitate to consult in the most difficult cases, you are not alone and there is no shame in that!

And finally, before you define yourself as excessively jealous, make sure through your entourage that you are not just with a sadist who plays with your nerves, hey!
